Going on a Treasure Hunt

Treasure Hunting in Kingdom terms = asking the Lord to give you a picture or some clue to help direct you to who he wants you to share his love and message with.

Tonight for Life Group we decided to go Treasure Hunting. We spent some time in worship and waiting on the Lord and then went out into Waco. We met at the Cultural Arts Festival and started in groups of 2 to 3 people. Now we all knew ahead of time that we were going so I had been praying about this on and off today and a 'gray shirt' kept coming to mind. Okay I thought, that's kinda general but okay. So my partner was Shannon and throughout the night we were able to pray for lots of people in the park and many of which who were believers. Our time was almost up when we saw two younger girls (18 & 19) and one had a gray shirt on. Of all the gray shirts I felt like the Lord highlighted her. I went up and introduced myself and remarkably her name was Susan also. I asked if she knew what her name meant. She didn't know so I started to share about how meaningful it was. We got to pray with them about a friend they were concerned about and then after I asked if anyone had every told them about Jesus. They reassured me that someone had...but I stepped out anyway and asked if I could share what I believe about Jesus and they agreed. Long story somewhat short, I got to share the full gospel and go through a tract with them. When I got out the tract something clicked. They were more responsive and more open. The spirit was definitely moving. When I asked if they wanted that, the response of the girl in the gray was "who wouldn't want that" and when I asked if they would like to do that right now they hesitated and said it was too busy here at the park with all these people. Even after an offer to move locations they decided that they would pursue it on their own. Before we parted though they asked where we went to church and they said "I have a feeling we'll be seeing you again." Lord, seal it on their hearts! Not for our glory but for yours alone.

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7
