Experiencing Brussels!
We wanted to take a moment and say thank you for your prayers and financial support of our recent trip to Brussels in March. This trip was crucial for us to decide what this upcoming season will look like for us.
Because this was a vision trip, we had the goal of praying through the streets, meeting with missionaries and ministry contacts (people already there with different organizations), looking at housing, learning about schools for our kids, and listening to God for direction. We are happy to say that we were able to do all those things and more during this brief trip!
Huge praises: Isaac traveled amazing and did not experience jet-lag during our time there. He slept well and did amazing being carted around for 8-10 each day and no one got sick! Thank you Jesus!
Brussels is an amazing city, unique in so many ways and offering such beauty(more than just their AMAZING waffles and chocolate). We were able to experience many cultures just from walking around the city. It truly is a 'melting pot' of all nations.
During our time there I was also able to join two of our female teammates in praying through Brussels 'red light' district. This was a powerful encounter for me as I experienced the bondage of sin and shame of these woman and at the same time feeling the father's heart break for them. This was a trip I will never forget (I will blog more details about this specific experience later).
After processing with each other, the Lord, and seeking wise council, we are both in agreement that now is not the season for us to move to Brussels. Though we don't fully understand why, we trust God is good and that His plans are better than we know. Without going and getting our feet on the ground we would not have been able to make this decision and hear God as clearly as we did. There is still a full-team going to Brussels in the fall so we were thankful to help pave the way for them.
Thank you for all your prayers for direction and wisdom. We are so encouraged to have a loving group of supporters who are seeking after our best interest. We are still continuing to pray about what is next and will keep you all updated when we know more. Thank you for being a part of this Journey Together. (for pictures of our trip see the blog post Europe 2012)
