I'm an artist!

So here's a funny story. I was updating the blog while Sydney and Aaron were quietly painting pictures in the kitchen. Then I realized that several minutes went by without a peep. Then I hear giggling which turned into all out laughing. I walk in the kitchen only to find one wall painted randomly, dirty paint water spilled all over and they had painted each others faces. My only conclusion is that they both had there faces painted at the zoo recently and thought they would try their hand at it. Sydney told us she was a good artist.

On a different note, school starts tomorrow and we are anxiously awaiting its arrival. We are excited to meet people who are headed in the same direction and form lots of lasting relationships. We will have an orientation retreat at a camp near Dallas this weekend to kick-off Elevate this year. We have heard that there are 40 adults and 30 kids this year! Last year there were the same amount of adults and only 4 kids. Ohhh, here come the kids!

Speaking of kids, we'd like to ask for prayer for our kids as they transition to having two nights a week without mom and dad. This might be harder on mom so prayers my way are welcome too. Since Kate (our babysitter) will be putting them to bed on those nights we are praying for a smooth transition and lots of obedience:) There will be trying times on all fronts so prayer is needed!

Well, a lot of things have been speaking to my heart lately. I wanted to share a couple things I've heard over the last few days.

-Most people when facing a problem or a tough situation (that they are waiting for a breakthrough from God) abandon their post in the eleventh hour. They figure God isn't coming. But what we know to be true is that God usually arrives at 11:30. Don't give up. Wait for the Lord. Be patient and wait.

-God's fire(consuming fire) will always fall on a sacrifice that costs us something. The widow that put in the only two pennies she had or the woman who broke the perfume washing Jesus feet equating to a years wages. He will always consume a sacrifice that cost us something.

-It's right to come to the table that God has set before us hungry. Are you hungry when you get together as a body? Do you sit at a table without being hungry and anxiously await the food?

-When the enemy gets a hold of our economic welfare there is usually a place in time where we've allowed him to plunder.

These are all things that we will be unpacking over the next couple weeks and more!
