First, I wanted to say thank you to our friends at The Crossing who stored and put out our boxes at the Kingswood rummages in Sioux Falls is past weekend. What a blessing to have friends who are so generous with their time and resources to sacrifice for us. We feel the blessing! Thank you Jon & Kara and Jim & Sue! Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Well, it's almost official. The kids and I will be going back up to the mid-west this summer to visit family and friends! My mom has graciously offered to fly down here to help drive me and the kids back up for a 2 week visit. We are excited and it gives me something to look forward to this summer before school starts. We will be in Sioux City with my parents the first stretch of our trip and up in Sioux Falls and Jasper for the 2nd half to visit friends and family. We feel so blessed to have the resources and help to make the trip up-thank you Lord!
On another note, the parenting class we are taking now is highlighting such rich spiritual and practical truths. If anyone would like my notes from the class I'm more than willing to share.
Lastly, Sydney asked for a band-aid at lunch b/c her finger was bleeding. She asked me and then Aaron to both at different times to pray for Jesus to heal her finger. She got up from her nap, ripped off the band-aid and started yelling Jesus healed my finger! It's not bleeding anymore. Mommy! Aaron! Jesus healed my finger, LOOK! Then said, "Maybe he will heal my face too",(she got some road rash at the park this morning on her face). It strikes me as amazing that when she she gets hurt she always wants a band-aid and then immediately asks me to pray for Jesus to heal her! Are we that quick to ask for healing? Do we expect it to happen when we ask? (ripping off the band-aid to check if it's healed yet) Why am I amazed by her faith?
(Mark 10:13-16 NASB) He was indignant and said to them, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. "Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it at all." And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands upon them.
Susan - I would LOVE your notes on parenting!! Hope we get to see you this summer!! jaymi
ReplyDeleteJaymi, I'll for sure send you the notes. It doesn't do the class justice but it's still good. Yes, we hope to make it for worship on Aug 1!!
