Update from the last couple months

We hope this finds you all well and thriving!  We miss you and wanted to give you a quick update on all that has been happening with us in the last couple months.

In September, we were so blessed to have seen so many of our friends at World Mandate!  It seemed that every time we turned around we got another hug.  It was wonderful!  We thoroughly enjoyed the ‘re-upping” in our journey and were challenged yet again to re-examine our goals and vision with Jesus.  We also enjoyed the hospitality of Pete and Jen Leininger (thank you again) all weekend and were so blessed by their wisdom and guidance in our new season.  We got to spend time with so many of our friends and we were so grateful!

Shortly after arriving home from World Mandate a divine encounter happened between me and the girl I disciple here (some of you know about this because Jimmy shared a piece of the story in church last month).  This encounter lead to a four day calling and texting string between me and the Unbound team working to rescue a girl (who is from up here) on the Texas/Mexico border before she was sold into the sex trade.  The Unbound team was able to rescue her in time and she is currently in a Safehouse and doing well.  My minor involvement in this case was enough to spur me on being more aware of my surroundings and sharing with the people around me about human trafficking.  Since then, God has brought more girls in my path.

On another note, Andrew recently took a full-time job working on his parent’s farm.  He enjoys farm work and is diligent doing it.  He is also overseeing/coaching a group of Life Group Leaders and actively discipling the men in his life.

The Kids
Sydney is enjoying homeschool (most of the time).  She reminds me just about every day how much she misses Waco Baptist and her teacher, Mrs. Norman.  She is slowly making friends.  There are not any girls her age in the church we are at now.  We are praying that God provides a ‘best’ friend in these crucial years ahead.

On Nov 1st we celebrated Aaron’s 5th birthday!  Oh, what a blessing it is to experience boys. Aaron, means Mountain, which is what he tries to conquer almost everyday.  He is so full of life, tender love and strong leadership even at such a young age.  The things that God has planned for him are far beyond what I could ever imagine!

Isaac is walking! We celebrated his 1st birthday (and our anniversary) on September 25.  He is getting so silly with all his expressions and giggles.  What a joy!  He truly is living up to his name (Laughter).

In closing even though this season has been difficult for us we are finding purpose in our time here.  God is continuing to teach us about leadership, love and resting in his mercy.
