This Month & Chacos

Over the last several weeks we have been helping at least 3 families move, preparing for the Elevate finals and 100 verse write-outs, attending an outreach retreat, leading LG, visiting friends, finishing support raising, and attempting to gain needed items for Peru! So that's just the last couple weeks.

We have been very active and the weather is growing increasingly warm very fast. We have already visited the apartment pool about 5 times. As you can see from the picture to your right I am also gaining in pounds! I am now in my 20th week (half way-hooray)! I only hear from Texas friends that the worst is to come...battling the heat while being pregnant. Lots of water drinking (which has never been my strength) and staying inside in the afternoons looks to be in my future. The positive side: Peru is experiencing their winter season now and the weather should be in the the mid-70s which is a blessing. We are getting very excited about Peru and are anxious to see how God is going to move in our midst.

Andrew is very excited about Peru and has started some research, as well as, talking with other people about what to bring, how to dress, etc. His latest find is...Chaco sandals. So we had never heard of these sandals before coming to Texas. I remember last year about this time Andrew says," Have you noticed all these people wearing these strapy sandals? What's that about?" Well we found out that it is a very durable, comfortable, hiking, swimming, and all around great sandal for the states and just about any other place in the world. They have been endorsed to him by everyone wearing them that he sees which has also lead to at least 2 hours of research online about them. So all you Chaco wearers and mission trip takers I think my husband is about to join your ranks! If you're a Chaco wearer please leave a comment about how you like them...it might speed up the decision process:)

  1. Tyler has a pair, he also has a pair of Keen's. He says he prefers the Keens more... just his opinion. :)
