So a week from today we will be driving home for Christmas! Yes, I'm excited for the 15.5 hour drive. Andrew and I love road-trips. On the way up the kids are usually excited to get to G & G's and start a time of fun so the trip goes quickly (the way back is a different story). It is a little strange thinking of the concept "going home for Christmas." I haven't done that since college because I've always lived near home so using the word 'trip' didn't actually make much sense. Anyway, we are excited to escape the warmer weather for a while (yes, the term 'warm' is relative) and endure the cold for a couple weeks. But what would the Midwest be if not cold in the winter?
Before I get carried away about thoughts of home I think I'm going to continue to push though the crazy list in front of me...all the way up until I get in the car that day. There is lots of laundry, cleaning, studying, reading, shopping, care-taking, and organizing to be done before next week. Jesus give me strength and sanity:)
Just thinking about what needs to be done in the next 7 days is a little wild, isn't it?? But we can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens or us. Or was it "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God..." Seriously, lots of verses floating around in this head!! :-)
