A Visit with Uncle Matthew

We had a nice weekend with Andrew's brother Matthew. Matthew is currently at Fort Hood about 40 minutes from Waco. You can imagine our excitement when we found out that he was going to be down here (at Fort Hood) for 6 weeks! It is really amazing that we move 17 hours away and find ourselves next to family for a little while. Michael and Angela Ellingson (Andrew's cousin) lived about 35 minutes away up until mid-May of this year. Since then, they have returned to Sioux Falls (The Crossing). It was still great to have them here for the first couple months and then now getting to visit with Matthew was wonderful too. We picked Matthew up on Friday from the base and took him home with us for the weekend. We took him to our zoo here in Waco because Matthew is a wildlife/fisheries major and there is so much to look at. We did have to go early though because it was going to hit over 100 that day (and it did)! We had fun the rest of the day swimming and napping. Yes, a nap. The heat took it out of all of us. We went to church in the morning and Andrew drove him back on Sunday afternoon. The kids kept saying, "where's Uncle Matthew?" They absolutely loved having him here and so did we! I'll attach some pictures.

This week will be exciting for the kids and me as will be going to Kid's Camp (Tues, Wed & Thurs) from 9-noon. I'm a volunteer in Sydney's class and she is SO excited! Aaron will be in childcare while I help out which is a blessing to me too. We are praying that all the kids will be blessed by the camp is hear the message of Christ.

Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
